Bear Aware: Travelling in Bear Country

The best way to minimize an encounter with a bear is by practicing prevention. Don’t wait until you are head-to-head with a bear to think about what you could have done to avoid an encounter. Bloodborne Pathogens is designed for individuals who may be exposed to blood and body fluids during the performance of their work and who wish to gain a more thorough understanding of bloodborne pathogens, the prevention of occupational exposure, and exposure follow-up. Confined Space Awareness

When there is a confined space in the workplace, all workers in that workplace require Confined Space Awareness training as well as workplace-specific training.

This online course identifies the characteristics of a confined space, describes the risks associated with working in a confined space and the prescribed methods for controlling those risks, and explains the documentation requirements pertaining to confined space work.

This course should be provided to all workers in a workplace that contains a confined space. It meets the requirement for Awareness Level training.

The risk of H2S exposure exists in many industries, including, but not limited to oil and gas, pulp and paper, construction, and mining. In workplaces where the possibility of H2S exposure exists, ALL workers should have H2S Awareness training. Workers who are at risk of exposure to H2S and/or workers with rescue responsibilities also require H2S Alive and workplace-specific training.

Hydrogen Sulphide (H2S) is a highly toxic and flammable gas. Each year in Canada, workers are injured and killed by exposure to H2S. H2S Awareness explains the properties of H2S, identifies control measures, and provides a practical description of what to do in the event of exposure. $24.95 + GST

This online course assists learners in developing a personal understanding of the effects of stress, loss, trauma and grief, with emphasis on self-care and personal protection. Learners will be introduced to the Red Cross Look, Listen, Link, Live model and will learn how to cope with the effects of various types of stress. This course can also be taken in combination with the Red Cross Caring for Others online course to supplement and strengthen an overall psychosocial wellness program. $20+GST

Audience

Available as a stand-alone course, or for candidates who wish to take the Psychological First Aid in-class course. Course is adaptable to all audiences (Youth, Workplace, Professional Responder).

Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)

WHMIS, Global Harmonized 2015, Every worker who works with, or in proximity to, a hazardous product in the workplace must have Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) training. In February 2015, WHMIS was modified to align with the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS). The “new” WHMIS is known as WHMIS 2015. WHMIS 2015 Online is based on the current 2015 legislation and meets the legislated requirement for general WHMIS training.
